All of this can be experienced from the capital Oranjestad with its heavy Dutch influences. The closet beaches to the capital are Surfside Beach and Druif Beach both with soft white sand.Aruba is a mecca for American tourist and beach holidays. Ships moor at the quayside and it is a short walk into town.

The capital Willemstad is a cosy Dutch haven with its neat row houses which are 17th and 18th century Dutch colonial buildings. Visit the Hato Caves formed from coral reefs, the freshwater waterfall and Shete Boka National Park with its limestone tidal cavern. The Ostrich Farm is the largest outside of Africa where you can feed the birds and watch the Ostrich dance. Best souvenir buys areDelft pottery and of course the Sapphire Blue Liqueur –Curacao.

With a tropical climate, the city is a popular beach destination. Reachable by boat are the nearby shores of Isla de Barú and Islas del Rosario, known for their coral reefs and scuba diving.
Day 9
Panama Canal, Panama
One of the seven wonders of the world linking the Caribbean to the Pacific Ocean by a series of locks taking huge ships across the Central America via the Gatun Lake. A must do journey on anyone's bucket list the ship squeezes through narrow canals seemingly floating across dry land. A Journey through the Panama Canal is achieved by the ship rising up and down through huge locks. On this Itinerary the ship will travel through the first set of locks (comprising of three stepped tiers) from the Caribbean to the Gatun lake and back. Your Panama Canal taster experience ends with a port of call on Cristobal for Colón which is known as Panama's second city and it is the capital of Panama's Colón Province.
Day 10

Day 12
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
This island remains part of the British Commonwealth and it is famed its Scuba diving and white sandy beaches - in particular Seven-Mile Beach close to Georgetown the capital. It is also one of the few nesting grounds of the logger-head turtle. One of the best things to do is snorkelling with the sting rays – you will not be disappointed. Try visiting Hell - a village in the far corner of the island where you will find a turtle farm. Ships generally anchor off shore here and the island is reached by tender.
