Celebrity Edge

Edge was promoted as the future of cruising - we found it underwhelming with much wasted space aboard, too much focus on "artistic" elements that began to feel like "the king's new clothes".
We had a "virtual balcony" which apart from the age that you have to spend holding the button to open or close, was a triumph of miss-selling. It ISN'T a balcony - it's a WINDOW that half lowers and some of the storage is difficult to access because of the room layout and proximity to the bed.
Food was up to Celebrity's usual standard, and the staff in general were friendly, efficient and happy to help.
We are "seniors" and maybe Edge isn't designed for our demographic, but we certainly won't be returning.
By the way we were captained by "Captain Kate" who I found placed too much emphasis on being a female captain. I get the challenge of getting to that position as a woman, but I don't need reminding every day!
