The Northern Lights again!

5

Our third cruise on the Aurora with P&O to see the Northern Lights was the best yet (not that P&O has any control over the elements). We had one night of the most fabulous aerial entertainment we have ever seen (on board the ship at Alta, our favourite port), although the shore excursion (our first to see the Aurora) from Tromso was not well-organised and a waste of time and money. All the shops were full of nisses for Christmas, so November or December is the best month for combining Christmas shopping and viewing the Aurora. The ship is small and perfect for this sort of voyage, and the food is as good as on the larger ships (but, as everyone says, not as good as it used to be - no lobster on the last Gala Night!). The ship has all the entertainment we would want, and, unlike one of the larger ships we went on, has an indoor cinema.
