49 days cruising Southampton to Sydney with only 10 days of sunshine will spoil most cruises. However, I have tried to take that into consideration when writing this review. Even though the weather could only get better it says something when we, and several others who disembarked in Sydney, were still looking forwards to the end of the cruise. Entertainment varied from embarrassingly poor to occasionally excellent. Staff were, almost without exception, excellent and worked very hard to make our cruise as good as they could.
Food was becoming monotonous and generally average. Despite some occasions in the main restaurant when the meal was excellent, generally the food was quite poor and overall rated, at best, as works canteen quality. Indeed, some dishes wouldn't have passed trades description. Won't use P&O again. Entry level cruising. Better to save up and have one cruise every 2 to 3 years than one poor one each year.
