The cruise liner had major biofouling issues on the cruise before ours and we were concerned that this would affect our cruise significantly and approached Regent for clarity and received notice prior to leaving the UK in writing that our cruise would continue as advertised and planned. We got on board at Auckland and again in writing received notice that all was good and we left the dock. 24 hours later we were advised part of our cruise had to be abandoned because the ships hull was not adequately cleaned and had to be cleaned at sea. We later were advised that Regent knew of the problem of the ships hull prior to leaving the dock but did not tell us until we were at sea. To cut a long story short only 4 out of 12 planned excursions during the complete cruise were completed as advertised. Regent gave us a 25% refund of the cruise fare, not 25% of the total cost, when 75% of the excursions planned and advertised were not completed as stated. Yes we expect a greater refund and what compounds the issue is that Regent were aware of problems prior to the ship leaving dock but never advised the guests until we were at sea. Pathetic.
