Anthem of the Seas, Northern Europe

5

This was a cruise from Southampton to the Norwegian Fjords.

Embarkation at Southampton was very long and tedious. There were very long queues waiting to get into the port terminal and like everyone else, we had to wait in line in the rain. Once on board everything went smoothly. I took advantage of RCCL cabin auction service a couple of week before departure and was lucky enough to bag a balcony cabin from our booked inside cabin for the minimum auction amount. The cabin was great, quite big and a lovely big balcony.

The 3 main things I look forward to when cruising (I have done over 37 cruises) is, being spoilt with good food in the restaurant (MDR) - tick, Great entertainment - tick and ports of call - tick.

The ship is big and was very busy. I would suggest it was probably 90% full. The weather in the Norwegian Fjords s much better than expected, which made for more enjoyable stays. I was disappointed that since booking the cruise they changed the policy of totally free use of the Skydive (Ripcord by iFly) and the North Star. However r speaking with customer services before the cruise they advised me that we could still get 2-minute Skydive whilst the ship was in a port and likewise we could have a flight in three North Star whilst the ship was in a port. We did both these things, which were very enjoyable particularly the 2-minute Skydive. To be honest 2 minutes was probable enough. Liam, as instructor made us feel very safe and was very professional.

The drinks on Anthem of the Seas were quite expensive and is surprised that there was no free drinks available on gala nights, welcome aboard parties etc.

Is ill for a full 24hrs with severe sickness and diarrhoea android when I reported it they confined me to my cabin and tested me for corona virus. That came back negative but we knew it would, it was Nora virus and hand sanitising was more stringent, we noticed, After my illness as apparently I want the only person to get ill??? I want charged anything for my care in the cabin, which I suppose it's good news.

Overall a good cruise with friends ... Another one ticked of our bucket list.

Our cruise would have been amazing, had I realised that there would be many, many unruly young children on board, accompanied by their equally unruly parents. I had misjudged the timing of school hol...

As I a wheelchair user I needn't extra help with certain aspects, like embarkation and arrival and getting ashore. I found the staff helpful and accomodating in every respect. The beds were extremely ...
