Norwegian Epic, Mediterranean

We picked up an email whilst at Gatwick Airport informing us our upgrade bid had been successful. We went from Guaranteed Balcony to a two bedroom family suite in the Haven!
This was a unique experience for us, whizzed through embarkation, personally escorted to our cabin, to the exclusive Haven Suite area. With our own Pool Courtyard with small swimming pool, and two whirlpools, we never had to wait for access, however the noise from the extractor fans made it a very noisy area, not what you'd expect from a luxury experience. The bar area was never crowded, the restaurant definitely a step up from main room dining, however that didn't stop the Lobster from being rubbery, I noticed several guests either leaving it or complaining, and on one occasion wanting a late snack on return from an excursion, was disappointed that the chips with my fajita were not freshly cooked.
The contrast from the Haven to the rest of the ship was a full on hit to the senses, from quiet and serene, to hassle and bustle.
Would I ever pay full price for this upgrade? No, but it was an interesting experience.
