Day 2
Boston, USA
Boston is home to the 400 year old Harvard University, the Boston Tea Party, Cheers and Ally Mc Beal ! The central area of Boston is called Back Bay where you will find the Copley Plaza shopping area, Boston Common, Faneuil Hall Market place and Beacon Hill. Beacon Hill runs along the north edge of Boston Common and is home to the original pub called Cheers. Faneuil Hall Market place is the bustling centre of Boston with Quincy Market which looks rather like Covent Garden in London. Here you will find lots of shops, bars and restaurants including the famous Irish pubs. Also in this area you will find The 18th Century Schooner Liberty used in the uprising against the British, The Boston Aquarium and the site of the original Boston Tea Party which triggered the American War of Independence. The best way to the learn the most about this historic centre of the USA is to follow the two and a half mile long Freedom Trail. This was the very route that Paul Revere took to warn of the British invasion of the city.

Day 7
San Juan, Puerto Rico
San Juan is the capital of the island which is 110 miles long by 40 miles wide and was claimed by Christopher Columbus for Spain in 1493. Spain possessed Puerto Rico for over 400 years, despite attempts by France, the Netherlands, and England to capture the island. Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States where Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens. Attractions include Bioluminescent Bay- a truly brilliant natural wonder, this bay, particularly on moonless nights, literally glows in the dark. Flamenco beach is in a nearly wave-less, sheltered cove where fish swim right up to the edge of the water that is waist deep for quite a stretch and has at least 20 yards of crystal clear visibility underwater. Visit the El Yunque rainforest where you can swim in the waterfall.
Day 8
St. Thomas, USVI
St Thomas is part of the US Virgin Islands and THE duty free shopper’s paradise in the Caribbean. Charlotte Amalie is the capital – and this quaint town is a joy to walk around with its cobbled streets and alley ways filled with the best shops in the Caribbean – but not so much “in your face” as the other islands. Unlike most of the other islands this is the US of A in the Caribbean – it is clean, organised and well run; you may think that you are in one of the Florida Keys. The best beach is Magens Bay (voted one of the top 10 beaches of the world) and is approximately 6 miles away from the capital on the other side of the island.
Day 9
Philipsburg, Saint Maarten
This island was settled at different periods buy both the Dutch and the French so there are two distinct halves to the island. The capital is Philipsburg where the cruise ships dock at the quayside. This is a delightful warren of narrow streets with interesting shops and leafy courtyard cafes. This is a wonderful place to wander around starting in Wathey Square where you will fund a fine collection of West Indian Gingerbread houses. The French Capital is Marigot- worth visiting for its markets, café lined waterfront and the chic boutiques of Marina Port La Royale.
Day 10
Castries, Saint Lucia
St Lucia the second of the top three islands in the Caribbean and also one of our favourites. Another lush tropical island and part of the Windward Island group. The capital is Castries in the North West and there is a lush verdant rain forest in the centre. This island is volcanic and is most famous for Les Pitons – two twin conical shaped mountains.St Lucia became part of the British Common wealth as recently as 1979. Unlike many islands St Lucia is not wholly reliant on the cruise ships and it exports much of its produce such as bananas, coconut, cocoa, nutmeg and sugar cane. There are charming fishing villages, bustling markets, & stunning volcanic scenery. Check out picturesque Marigot Bay the location of many films, trek through the rainforest and take a refreshing dip in a waterfall or be adventurous and take a jungle top zip wire adventure. The best beach is Rodney Bay with its white sands or longer Reduit Beach - both north of Castries.
Day 11
Bridgetown, Barbados
Probably the most popular island for British holiday makers and the first of 3 Caribbean destinations. There are two reasons for this - the incredible white sand beaches on the sheltered western side of the island and because it’s the only Caribbean Island to be colonised by one nation – the Brits! You will even find a Trafalgar Square here.Bridgetown is the capital lying in the South Western corner of the island. There is a large cruise dock where shuttle buses take you from the cruise ship to the terminal. The closest beach to the cruise terminal is Boatyard Beach - a white sand happening beach that is well equipped particularly in its Adventure Beach area with lots of things to do. There is an entrance charge which includes sunbeds and a free shuttle back to your ship. Barbados is famous for its Golf Courses – particularly at Sandy Lane, its cricket and perhaps take time out to visit Sunbury Plantation House over 300 years old.
Day 12
At Sea
Relax and make the most of the myriad of facilities available on board the ship, from fantastic entertainment to delicious and diverse dining options.
Day 13
Willemstad, Curacao
This volcanic island is sandwiched in between Bonaire and Aruba and is lies in the far South of the Caribbean just 40 miles off the coast of Venezuela. The capital Willemstad is a cosy Dutch haven with its neat row houses which are 17th and 18th century Dutch colonial buildings. Visit the Hato Caves formed from coral reefs, the freshwater waterfall and Shete Boka National Park with its limestone tidal cavern. The Ostrich Farm is the largest outside of Africa where you can feed the birds and watch the Ostrich dance. Best souvenir buys are Delft pottery and of course the Sapphire Blue Liqueur –Curacao.
Day 14 to 15
At Sea
Relax and make the most of the myriad of facilities available on board the ship, from fantastic entertainment to delicious and diverse dining options.
Day 16
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas
In a region renowned for tropical wonders, one island rises to the top—ours. We’re not the only ones enamored with our slice of paradise—Half Moon Cay is the highest-rated Bahamas private island. It has won Porthole Cruise Magazine’s Best Private Island award consecutively for 20 years. We’ve spent a quarter of a century perfecting the experience. When you feel the sugar-white sand on your toes or kayak its crystal lagoon, you’ll understand why cruise travellers love Half Moon Cay, a highlight of our Bahamas cruises.
