Napier has a tree lined promenade along the waterfront and features Art-Deco architecture such as crazy patterned Daily Telegraph building. The city was rebuilt after the 1931 earthquake and you will find everywhere - the city's symbol of the Maori maiden statue, t called he Pania of the Reef.

The port is located short a distance from Mount Maunganui, one of New Zealand’s most popular beach resorts, and has a reputation as surfing mecca. A stroll along the strand waterfront area is well worth doing, where you’ll find a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants.
