This rare itinerary lets you see two entirely different fjord landscapes: Norway's fjords with their steep, forested mountains and charming waterfront towns, and Iceland's fjords with their raw and rugged beauty. Be forewarned: you may have a hard time choosing a favorite. Wander Bergen's colorful historic quay, and Alesund's delightful Art Nouveau architecture. Climb Geiranger's Troll Road with hairpin turns leading to incredible fjord views. And while Iceland may not have these attractions, it has plenty of its own, from steaming blue lagoons and geysers to enduring elf folklore and an absolutely delightful culture. In between fjord adventures, explore islands teeming with birdlife, Neolithic ruins, tiny ponies, and one island too young to have any of those - Surtsey Island just rose from the sea in 1963.
