Seward, Alaska to Vancouver
You’ll never forget this extraordinary close-up of the 49th state. Our journey begins in Seward, on glittering Resurrection Bay, from where we cruise past the Hubbard Glacier, the longest tidewater glacier in North America. Now we head for Alaska’s original capital, Sitka, where the onion-shaped dome of Saint Michael’s serve as a visual reminder of the days when this was Russian territory. Icy Strait Point is next, a former salmon cannery dedicated to the thrills and spills of outdoor activities, including the world’s largest ziprider. Onwards to, Wrangell, to see the 8,000-year-old rock carvings at this home of the Tlingit people, then Ketchikan, where many of the buildings balance on stilts over the water. Now we enter Canadian waters at Triple Island and Pine Island, passing through the Seymour Narrows before arriving in the lively city of Vancouver.
