Wave goodbye to Laem Chabang, the port for Bangkok, for a closer look at Southeast Asia. Our first stop is Ko Kut, a Thai island admired for the untouched quality of its wilderness as well as sugar sands such as Ao Noi with its pretty wooden pier. We hop now to the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc, another eye-catcher that is largely National Park but has plenty of local life to experience in the main town Duong Dong. Kota Kinabalu on Borneo adds plenty of market life as well as rainforest action to the mix, and, after a day at sea, we cross to the Philippines to the sandy beaches of Boracay before hitting the irrepressible capital of this island state, Manila.
