Genoa to Dubai
Starting out from Genoa, birthplace of Christopher Columbus, this 28-night tour takes us from sea-faring empires to sand-built ones. Heading down the west coast of Italy, we drop anchor at Livorno, jumping-off point for the Renaissance delights of Florence and Pisa. Sailing onwards, Naples offers the chance to eat pizza in its birthplace or visit the ruins at Pompeii before we depart for Messina, to explore the historic Sicilian town or soar over Mount Etna in a helicopter. After sailing north to Athens, we head south to the ancient Egyptian city of Alexandria and through the Suez Canal to Aqaba for the rose-hued lost city of Petra before reaching Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. From here, we turn into the Arabian Sea, stopping to experience the Frankincense trail in Salalah, relax on a dhow in Oman’s capital, Muscat, and thrill at the bright lights and retail opportunities of Dubai, our final stop.
