Visiting:
Boston to Montreal
We bid a fond farewell to Boston and chart a course up the wild east coast, shaped by the might of the Atlantic. Pretty Bar Harbor in Maine is our first stop; from here you can explore the beautiful mountains and seascapes of Acadia National Park. Then we visit the capital of Nova Scotia, Halifax (its maritime museum is the oldest and largest in Canada), followed by Sydney on Cape Breton Island – visit the Highland Village to learn about Nova Scotia’s proud Gaelic heritage. Prince Edward Island is next; known as the birthplace of Confederation, as well as the setting for Anne of Green Gables, it is steeped in history and culture without ever being stuffy, as you’ll see in its lively capital, Charlottetown – shuck oysters on the waterfront, sample the local craft beers and visit its Victorian houses. A sea day gives us time to relax after all that exploring before the twin marvels of UNESCO-listed Québec City and jazz-filled Montreal, our final stop.
