Celebrity Cruises have revealed more details of their new Solstice-class ships, which are due to make their debut in the form of Celebrity Solstice in December.
The 122,000-ton, 2,850-passenger vessel will feature cabins 15% larger than previously and innovative elements like a half-acre Lawn Club (with real grass), a glass-blowing show and dramatically enhanced dining options.
And their latest announcement shows a widely varied entertainment programme, including new theatre productions through an exclusive partnership with Poet Theatricals to create three original shows for the ship, involving acrobatic and aerial performances, plus speciality acts.
The state-of-the-art, 1,115-seat theatre has been expressly designed to optimise sight lines and bring guests closer to the entertainers, with a curved stage creating an almost theatre-in-the-round experience.
There will also be a new ‘Entertainment Court’ in the centre of the ship (flanked by other entertainment venues Celebrity Central and the hip Quasar nightclub) to serve as a live hub on Celebrity Solstice. The Court’s unique design and proximity to Quasar allows for opening up both venues to create a larger ambience at night.
The Pool Deck then features a unique series of animated water fountains that can be synchronised to music to serve as additional enjoyment on deck.
Celebrity Solstice will make her maiden voyage on December 14 and then offer alternative 7-night itineraries from Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean.
