SeaDream to Cease South America Destinations And unveil SeaDream’s Caribbean

A dynamic new expanded Winter Season 2007-2008 on SeaDream II

SeaDream Yacht Club has announced it will not be returning to South America in the winter season of 2007-2008.

Instead, award winning ultra-luxury mega-yacht SeaDream II, will redeploy to the West Indies for a dynamic series of five and nine-night sailings operating in what it describes as SeaDream’s Caribbean.

The award-winning, ultra-luxury operator said that a multitude of unexpected operational challenges encountered during its inaugural season in South America prompted the decision not to return. “Factors we have encountered in the region such as changing sabotage laws, a recessive regulatory environment and Brazil’s well publicized crime problems are behind our decision” says Ian Buckeridge, SeaDream’s senior director.

In making this announcement Buckeridge also announced a fresh new approach to SeaDream’s winter 2007-2008 schedule, by introducing SeaDream’s Caribbean featuring mainly smaller, less familiar yachting-style ports.

SeaDream II will use St. Thomas and San Juan as her gateway ports with her new itineraries including Gustavia, St. Barts; Peter Island BVI; Spanish Town and North Sound, Virgin Gorda; Culebrita and Esperanza, Vieques,Puerto Rico; Anegada, BVI; Saba, Netherlands Antilles; Anguilla, BWI; and Jost van Dyke, BVI.

Buckeridge added “The 2007-2008 SeaDream’s Caribbean programme on SeaDream II features five and nine night sailings; the five nighters will operate from Sunday to Friday making them ideal for private charters, weddings and corporate incentives as well as for combining with a resort stay to create sumptuous cruise & stay options whilst her nine nighters allow SeaDream to offer new and past guests the chance to sail for longer than a week, something many SeaDream regulars have asked for”.

SeaDream Reservations will be contacting all agents with clients affected by these changes. Guests will be given the opportunity to re-book on Caribbean or Mediterranean voyages or to claim a full refund.
