Celebrity Eclipse has returned to Southampton for its sixth consecutive year having been refreshed and enhanced during a nine-day spell in a dry-dock in Florida.

The 2,850-guest cruise ship sailed into its summer home port of Southampton on 7 May. Changes made during the time spent in dry-dock include the addition of new bars, a new restaurant and a brand new suite accommodation concept.

New additions includes the Gastrobar, a new craft beer venue featuring a choice of over 40 boutique beers, cocktails and gastropub-style food choices; the first ever World Class Bar at sea celebrating the best in innovative mixology culture; a poolside bar – Slush – offering frozen handmade cocktails; Luminae, an exclusive restaurant for those staying in Suite Class accommodation; and an improved portrait studio.

Suite Class is also a new experience for luxury travellers offering more inclusive benefits than before to those choosing to holiday in luxury suite accommodation at sea. Guests in Suite Class now enjoy a private lounge, complimentary internet access, speciality dining, premium drinks packages, and a personal butler. The exclusive experience for Suite Class extends to the personal touches in the new Luminae restaurant where dishes will be prepared to accommodate guests’ favourite flavours. Plus, an exciting menu making the most of the seasonal produce from ports of call is also on offer.

Jo Rzymowska, managing director, UK and Ireland, Celebrity Cruises, said “Award-winning Celebrity Eclipse has been a favourite choice for UK holidaymakers for many years now. With the introduction of new bars and restaurants that bring to life the best of the iconic cities we sail to around the world, the ship is a yet more exciting destination in itself. At Celebrity Cruises we are known for stylish design and exceptional food and wine. I’m really excited about the new additions to Celebrity Eclipse, and the significant investment we have made to enhance the holiday experience when visiting an incredible range of destinations via the ship. Even the bars on-board deliver some of the finest craftsmanship in the world when it comes to the drinks on offer – and that is just to whet your appetite for what else is on-board.”

Celebrity Eclipse will offer cruises from Southampton throughout the Mediterranean and northern Europe during summer and autumn 2015. The ship will offer three new itineraries this year including 13- and 15-night Canaries and Azores sailings and a new 15-night Scandinavia and Russia and sailing.
