NCL drops cover charges for many Asian dining venues across their fleet

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that they have dropped the charge for many of their Asian dining venues across the fleet.

Guests can now dine at a range of Asian dining venues across the fleet on a complimentary basis. According to Norwegian Cruise Line the cover charge and à la carte pricing for many Asian dining concepts across the fleet has been eliminated to further enhance guest satisfaction.

This change is made as part of the Norwegian NEXT programme. Their NEXT programme will see the cruise line invest significantly into enhancing guests’ dining experience on-board and will see even more culinary options on offer.

Andy Stuart, president and chief operating officer of Norwegian Cruise Line, said “Norwegian’s Freestyle Dining is the most fun and flexible way for guests to enjoy some of the best dining experiences at sea, when they want and how they want. We are thrilled to continue that legacy by providing guests with more of the food they have come to love and enjoy with the introduction of fleetwide complimentary Asian cuisine.”

Guests cruising aboard Norwegian’s Freestyle Cruising cruise ships can now indulge in favourites like fried rice, spicy seafood udon noodles, steamed pork dumplings and more, free of charge at the following venues:

• Orchid Garden on Norwegian Gem
• East Meets West on Pride of America
• Lotus Garden on Norwegian Pearl
• Shogun on Norwegian Spirit
• Chin Chin on Norwegian Jewel
• Bamboo on Norwegian Dawn
• Jasmine Garden on Norwegian Jade
• Ginza on Norwegian Star
• Shanghai’s and Shanghai’s Noodle Bar on Norwegian Epic
• Shanghai’s Noodle Bar on Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway

Norwegian’s Teppanyaki restaurants will continue to charge a cover charge per guest, and Sushi venues across the fleet will retain à la carte pricing.

These changes follow news that NCL are to trial a new enhanced room service menu on-board Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway. Guests other than those in Haven or Suite grade accommodation will incur a convenience charge of up to $7.95 (approximately £5.30) per order. If successful the changes would likely be rolled out fleet-wide in due course.
