Hurtigruten adds new ‘Flavour of Norway’ packages

Hurtigruten has added a new Scandinavian food-themed package to its line-up of Norwegian coastal cruise holidays. The package combines a cruise between Tromsø and Bergen with a local three-course meal in a restaurant in Tromsø, and includes return scheduled flights from London and overseas transfers. Hurtigruten has added a new Scandinavian food-themed package to its line-up of Norwegian coastal cruise holidays.

The package combines a cruise between Tromsø and Bergen with a local three-course meal in a restaurant in Tromsø, and includes return scheduled flights from London and overseas transfers.

Guests will fly to Tromsø via Oslo from London Gatwick airport. They will have a chance to explore the city before enjoying a meal in the Roast restaurant at the Scandic Ishavhotel, Tromsø. The hotel is conveniently located adjacent to the pier Hurtigruten’s ships dock at in the city.

The ship will then sail south along the Norwegian coastline to Bergen, sailing past some of Norway’s most scenic fjords, mountains and islands. The itinerary includes calls to Stamsund and the Lofoten Islands; Bodø and Rørvik; Trondheim and Molde; before terminating at Bergen.

There are several optional experiences and activities on offer along the route, from heading out to sea with local fishermen in the Lofoten Islands to joining a mountain hike that promises spectacular views over the fjords or exploring Trondheim’s impressive Gothic-style Nidaros Cathedral.

The five-day trips include a scheduled outbound flight from London Gatwick airport to Tromsø, overseas transfers, a restaurant meal in Tromsø, and a flight from Bergen to London Gatwick. On-board, passengers will enjoy local cuisine, with delicacies and recipes sourced from along the route.

Daily departures are available from 7 April to 4 October 2016. Prices start from £745 per person based on two sharing an inside cabin on full board basis, including flights, transfers and a three-course dinner in a local hotel on arrival in Tromsø. Options to extend the trip in either Tromsø or Bergen are also available.

Hurtigruten has also removed the single supplement on selected 2016/17 voyages to Norway, Iceland, and Antarctica. New bookings made before 31 March 2016 for selected voyages are eligible.
