Edvard Munch Portraits, a new exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, launches today (13 March) and will run until 15 June. This marks the UK's first exhibition dedicated solely to Munch's portraiture, featuring over 40 works that shed light on the artist's social interactions and friendships, challenging the conventional view of him as a solitary figure.

A rediscovered painting of Munch's friend Thor Lutken, containing a hidden landscape, will be displayed in Britain for the first time.

Tickets for Edvard Munch Portraits are available for purchase on the National Portrait Gallery's website.

Viking, a cultural partner of the National Portrait Gallery, is also offering a chance to win tickets before 16 May 2025. Click here for details about the competition
