Utopia of the Seas: Discover more about Royal Caribbean's newest ship
Discover a comprehensive overview of Royal Caribbean's latest ship, Utopia of the Seas
Heads turned when Royal Caribbean International’s latest feat of cruise engineering, Utopia of the Seas, made its first appearance in Port Canaveral, Florida, earlier in 2024.
To mark the occasion, the ship’s godmother and Grammy-winning artist Meghan Trainor took centre stage to name the vessel and perform her hits.
Utopia – which Royal Caribbean claims to be the setting of the ‘biggest weekend at sea’ due to its three and four-night sailings – then departed for Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.
Onboard you’ll find a line-up of more than 40 dining and drinking options, five pools, two casinos, a fitness centre and the longest dry slide at sea.
1. Pools
Utopia offers resort-style pools with panoramic views and a poolside food truck – The Spare Tire – offering quick bites such as pulled pork on brioche rolls.
It also has two other poolside dining options so you can easily make the most of your sea days.
2. The Royal Promenade
The towering Royal Promenade is the beating heart of the ship.
A Royal Caribbean favourite, it hosts New York-style pizzeria Sorrento’s and Caribbean tiki bar Pesky Parrot, as well as boutiques selling duty-free merchandise.
3. Entertainment
When evening comes it’s time for the ship’s entertainment to kick into gear.
Guests can enjoy everything from ice-skating performances to rock and cocktails at Music Hall (above). Silent discos, live jazz and Latin beats ensure there’s something for all tastes.
4. Cabins
There are more than 20 cabin options, including the Royal Loft Suite (above) where a group of six can unwind in the master loft, take a dip in the bathroom’s spa tub, grab a drink in the expansive living area or take in ocean views from the whirlpool-equipped balcony.
5. Ultimate thrills
Thrill-seekers are more than catered for on Utopia.
You’ll find 18 slides, a 30,000-gallon FlowRider surf simulator and Ultimate Abyss – the longest dry slide at sea, which promises to spike the heart rate of even the most addicted adrenaline junkie.
6. Dining
An exciting addition to the Royal Caribbean fleet is Utopia’s Royal Railway dining experience, where a five-course menu of American classics is served in an immersive Wild West-era railway carriage while changing scenery showcases American Frontier landscapes.
