Oceania Cruises returns Marina to the water after an all-encompassing refurbishment. The good-as-new luxury ship sets sail with three new restaurants and incredible itineraries

Marina – part of Oceania Cruises’ fleet – returns to the high seas after a monumental refurbishment programme.

This includes the addition of three new dining options onboard, including Aquamar Kitchen, which first launched on Vista just last year. The wellness-inspired menu – think super food smoothies and organic power bowls for breakfast and slow-roasted organic salmon with quinoa tabouleh and yellowfin tacos for lunch – has been a hit on Vista, so it’s exciting to see it rolled out to Marina now.

Just as thrilling are the new poolside ice cream parlour and al fresco Pizzeria, both of which build on Marina’s previous roster of restaurants, including the favourite Waves Grill. The latter is a casual setting for dining on all-American favourites during the day before transforming, by night, into a pizzeria.

Elsewhere Marina’s 124 penthouse suites have been completed reimagined, maximising space and light. The gorgeous suites are fitted with custom-crafted furniture, matching the elegant and luxurious feel of the ship, and the new bathrooms are an absolute delight. Step into your oversized shower for a roomy and restful shower experience, finished with distinctive Italian marble.

If a cruise on the relaunched and reimagined Marina is calling your name, now is the perfect time to make a booking thanks to Oceania Cruises’ time-limited upgrade sale. The sale opens the opportunity to upgrade your suite by up to four categories on select sailings.

Just make sure you book before June 30, 2024, to take advantage of this offer.

Marina sets sail from Montreal – the heart of French-speaking Canada – on a 16-day ‘Far North Explorer’ voyage, disembarking in Reykjavik, Iceland. With just a short flight to get back to the UK from Iceland, this itinerary looks like the most inspiring way to cross the Atlantic.

With stops in three Canadian provinces, you’ll venture further north to Greenland, where you’ll explore one of the most extreme and remote inhabited places on Earth.

From there, a couple of sailing days take you to Iceland, where the combination of sub-Arctic fjords and mossy, volcanic landscapes irresistibly call you to get outside and fall in love with nature. A sensational itinerary even before you add in a four-category suite upgrade.

If you’re looking to head across the Atlantic in the opposite direction (also included in the upgrade sale), Marina has you covered with her 12-day cruise from Lisbon to Miami.

This sailing is the ideal opportunity to really get to know the next-generation Marina, thanks to the ample days at sea. Ideal for relaxing, and sampling all of the exquisite food options onboard, you be treated to eight blissful days at sea, punctuated with bright and cheerful days in Madeira, Antigua and Puerto Rico.

The Mediterranean is an undisputed gem for sailing. Mariners have treasured these waters for millennia, but rarely in such comfort and luxury as you’ll enjoy on Marina’s nine-day voyage from Barcelona to Athens.

Luxuriating in your upgraded suite, this sailing whisks you away to the sun-drenched jewels of Valletta, Rhodes, Ephesus, Istanbul (for an overnight stay) and Mitilini. This spring 2025 sailing presents the best time to visit these ever-popular islands, before the rush of the peak summer season.

Oceania Cruises’ four-category upgrade sail includes some further afield exotic destinations as well, including at 12-day South America voyage from Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro. Departing on January 14, 2025, this east coast journey calls in Argentina and Uruguay before exploring seven ports along the coast of Brazil, culminating in an overnight stay in Rio de Janeiro to round off a spectacular sailing.
