Holland America Line has been sharing the wonders of Alaska since 1947 – before Alaska was even a state

Alaska is part of Holland America Line’s DNA and therefore the perfect line to explore the Great Land. With nine distinct itineraries, calling in 20 different ports, with over 75 glaciers overall get prepared for an awe-inspiring adventure.

Booking early for 2026 comes with a range of benefits, including the ‘Have It All Early Booking Bonus’. Available for a limited time, this special deal includes upto $300 onboard credit per person, additional shore excursion credit, the elite drinks package, speciality dining experience, and WiFi and crew tips included.

Holland America Line’s 2026 Alaska season runs from April to September and is celebrated for its 360-degree programming, from food and excursions to destination-driven entertainment and enrichment.

Every voyage is enhanced by a resident wildlife guide, who helps you spot Alaska’s native wildlife from birds to bears and, of course, whales.

Plus, the line’s Glacier Guarantee™ guarantees unparalleled peace of mind by ensuring that you will definitely see a glacier within your cruise, or you’ll receive a future cruise credit equal to 15 per cent of your cruise fare.

Speaking about Holland America Line’s passion for Alaska, Dan Rough, vice president of revenue management for Holland America Line, said: “We continue to build an Alaska programme that is unlike any other in the industry, that is deeply immersive, putting a spotlight on all the splendour that brings cruisers to Alaska.

“Whether it’s talking to a park ranger while observing a glacier calve in Glacier Bay, joining a whale-watching tour or enjoying the freshest local fish that was just brought on board, we want our guests to return home feeling inspired.”

Top in Alaska for nature
Glaciers have carved their path through Alaska’s dramatic mountains, creating the sheltered sea passages used by mariners for centuries. And the opportunity to sail serenely up narrow fjords and stop face-to-face with a colossal, yet majestic, glacier is not to be missed.

Marjorie Glacier, in Glacier Bay National Park, is one of the most active glaciers in the state, with plenty of chance that you’ll see huge sheets of ice calve straight off the face of the glacier.

A wall of ice vanishing in a moment, followed by a rush of white mist and a roar known as ‘white thunder’ is one of the most memorable experiences in an Alaskan adventure.

And wildlife enthusiasts are in for a real treat as Holland America Line leads the industry in wildlife and wilderness tours, with over 175 animal sanctuary and guided sightseeing opportunities, including some experiences completely exclusive to Holland America Line, such as the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center’s ‘Moose Encounter’.

Fresh local seafood
Alaska is known for salmon and crab. Ketchikan is the world capital of salmon, and the Alaskan King Crab fishery is one of the largest in the world.

Holland America Line is the only cruise line that has committed to serving 100 per cent fresh, certified-sustainable, and traceable Alaskan seafood on board all ships sailing in the region.

This means that whenever you tuck into a delicious fish dish onboard, whether that’s a brown-sugar-glazed salmon or warming seafood chowder, that fish has been locally caught using sustainable practices and delivered fresh to the ship ready to be served. And you can taste the freshness – it’s delicious.
