When will cruise lines resume sailing? Complete guide to all cruise lines' start dates

Cruise lines vary greatly when it comes to their resumption of service.

These are the latest dates all the ocean and river cruises will be starting up again and which have been cancelled.

AmaWaterways

AmaWaterways is completely back in operation.

American Cruise Lines

American Cruise Lines is fully back in operation.

American Queen Steamboat Company

American Queen Steamboat Company is back in operation.

A-Rosa

A-Rosa has resumed its Rhine, Danube, Douro and Rhône cruises. Seine sailings have been cancelled for the entire 2021 season.

Aurora Expeditions

Aurora will resume cruises on October 29.

Avalon Waterways

European river cruises have all resumed.

Azamara

Azamara Quest has started sailing, with Azamara Journey sailing on October 13. Azamara Pursuit will not start sailing again until January 2022.

Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival ships have mostly resumed service. Still to come are Carnival Conquest on October 8, Carnival Freedom on October 9 and Carnival Elation on October 11.

Carnival Sunshine will restart from Charleston on January 13 and Carnival Liberty from Port Canaveral on February 11.

Carnival Splendor from Sydney, Australia is cancelled through February 7, and Carnival Spirit from Brisbane, Australia is cancelled through February 20. Carnival Ecstasy from Jacksonville, Carnival Paradise from Tampa, and Carnival Sensation from Mobile – have been axed through February.

Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity Cruises have already resumed sailing.

Celestyal Cruises

Celestyal Cruises have already resumed.

Costa Cruises

Costa Cruises have already begun.

CroisiEurope

CroisiEurope cruises have sailed already, including Remaining European river cruises.

Cruise & Maritime Voyages

British cruise line CMV has gone into administration, with the global pandemic having been cited as the reason for the company’s collapse. All future bookings have been cancelled. Customers who had cruises booked can find out how to get their money back on the cruise line’s website.

Crystal Cruises

River cruises have resumed. Crystal Serenity, Crystal Symphony, Crystal Endeavor and Crystal Esprit have already set sail.

Cunard

Queen Elizabeth resumed service on August 13.

Cunard world cruises for Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria for 2022 have been axed.

Disney Cruise Line

Disney Magic has already resumed sailing in the UK.

Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wonder have resumed.

Disney Magic departures in the United States through November 4 have been suspended.

Emerald Cruises

Douro, Rhine and Danube river cruises have all resumed.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines UK sailings on Borealis and Bolette have already started.

Balmoral will voyage on December 6 and Braemar on April 15, 2022.

G Adventures

G Adventures cruises are suspended until October 31, with some exceptions.

G Expedition Antarctica tours have also been suspended for the remainder of the 2021 season (January through to the end of August)

Holland America Line

Nieuw Amsterdam has already started sailing from the US.

Eurodam has also restarted Holland America Line Mediterranean cruises.

Hurtigruten

Hurtigruten has resumed service.

Marella Cruises

Marella Explorer has already started cruising. Marella Discovery will resume October 26, and on Marella Discovery 2 on November 1.

MSC Cruises

MSC Grandiosa, MSC Splendida, MSC Meraviglia and MSC Divina have already resumed voyages. UK cruises are already sailing.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Jade, Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Gem have resumed services.

Norwegian Bliss will sail from Los Angeles to Mexican Riviera on October 24, Norwegian Escape from Port Canaveral on November 13, 2021, Norwegian Pearl from Miami December 23, Norwegian Jewel from Panama January 20, 2022, Norwegian Sun in Asia from January 28, 2022, and Norwegian Spirit from Australia February 9, 2022.

Oceania Cruises

Oceania Cruises sailings have resumed, including Marina. Riviera will sail from Istanbul on October 18, Insignia from Miami on December 21 and Sirena from Miami on January 22, 2022.

P&O Cruises

Britannia is already sailing the UK and Iona is undertaking her maiden voyage. The other four P&O Cruises ships will begin cruising on the following dates: Ventura on October 3, Azura on December 10, 2021, Arcadia on March 27, 2022, and Aurora on April 13, 2022.

Paul Gauguin

Paul Gauguin has resumed services.

Ponant

Ponant is already sailing.

Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises UK sailings have resumed.

US sailings have already begun with the following ships still to sail: Ruby Princess from San Francisco on October 24, Sky Princess from Fort Lauderdale on November 20, Crown Princess from Fort Lauderdale on November 26, 2021, Caribbean Princess from Fort Lauderdale on November 28 and Enchanted Princess from Fort Lauderdale on November 30, 2021.

Island Princess will now return to service with a series of cruises to the Caribbean in spring 2022 while Diamond Princess will also return to service in spring 2022 with a season of Japan sailings.

Australia and New Zealand cruises have been cancelled, with Coral Princess voyages through to January 27, 2022, axed and Royal Princess and Sapphire Princess seasons through to March 2022 cut.

Riviera Travel

Riviera Travel has resumed European river cruises on Douro cruises and Seine cruises as well as Medieval Germany (Rhine), Danube and Rhine cuises. Yacht cruises are also sailing again.

Royal Caribbean Cruises

A number of Royal Caribbean ships have already started cruising, including Allure of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, Independence of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas.

Regent Seven Seas

Seven Seas Splendor has already started sailing.

Seven Seas Explorer returns on October 16, Seven Seas Mariner on December 18, from Miami, Seven Seas Navigator on January 6, 2022, Seven Seas Voyager on February 15, 2022.

Saga

Saga Cruises have resumed. International sailings will restart with Spirit of Adventure travelling to Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Zeebrugge on October 5.

Scenic

Scenic has resumed with river cruises on the Douro, as well as Bordeaux, Danube and Rhine river cruises.

Ocean cruises are suspended for the rest of 2021.

Seabourn

Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Odyssey have already started sailing. Seabourn Quest will sail November 7, Seabourn Sojourn on January 11, 2022, and Seabourn Encore on April 17, 2022.

Star Clippers

Royal Clipper and Star Flyer are already sailing. Star Clipper will return on November 13.

Tui River Cruises

Both TUI Maya and TUI Skyla have resumed service.

Uniworld

Uniworld cruises have already restarted.

Viking Cruises

Many Viking Cruises have already restarted, including European river operations and Mediterranean voyages.

Douro, Elbe, Moselle and Rhine, Main and Danube, Rhône, Garonne, Gironde and Dordogne and Seine cruises have resumed.

Virgin Voyages

Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady has resumed service. Valiant Lady will launch in March 2022.

Windstar

Certain Windstar cruises have already restarted, including Wind Surf and Star Legend.

Star Pride is set to resume on November 3.
