Whether you’re short on time or new to river cruising and looking to test the waters, a mini sailing is the solution

Used up the lion’s share of your annual leave? Still need some convincing that river cruising is the right holiday option for you? A mini-cruise is the way to go.

As the name suggests, a mini-river cruise is a short voyage on one of the world’s waterways that typically lasts a few days. These bite sized voyages often include a couple of ports of call – meaning you can tick off multiple destinations in just one trip – while only having to unpack once.

And, as an added bonus in these grim economic times, the price of a short cruise is invariably much cheaper than a longer sailing.

Ready to set sail? We’ve done the hard work for you and asked our friends at Riviera Travel – the award-winning river cruise and escorted tour specialist that’s currently celebrating its 40th birthday – to select five of the best shorter sailings for this year and next.
